Etched in stone

I had a chance to illustrate for signboards that will be put up at heritage sites at the coastal town of Bhatkal, Karnataka, India, some being the Jain basadis (temples) that were built around the 1500s. The local merchants and rulers back then built several beautiful temples in granite dedicated to Jain saints, that are rich in carvings and engravings. Some of the illustrations are showcased here.
